13.1 km2 of area in the Brčko District still remains as mine suspected, while the most endangered areas are Boderište, Vukšić, Skakava, Donji Rahić and Vučilovac
By the end of the year, demining operations is expected to be continued in the area of Boderište, at the area of 117,000 m2, along with tasks on the bed of the river Teka Osam, with a total area of 85,000 m2, and on the bed of the river Teka 13 with an area of 57,000 m2.
It is mostly agricultural land, while its implementation and funding in the amount of 600,000 KM is already planned within the budget of the Government of the Brcko District.
So far, about 13 km2 of mine suspected area in the Brcko District have been demined, and it is expected that the people of Brcko will deal with this problem for the next 10 years.
In the area of Brčko District in the last few years, there have been no casualties caused by mine accidents, due to the active implementation of mine risk education activities, both among school children and the local population.
