Mine risk education of primary school children
On December 14, 2022, a workshop on the topic of integrating mine risk education into the teaching process, has been held in Konjic.
The workshop is a continuation of the project that started on April 4, the International Mine Action Day, in the sixth grade of elementary schools, when mine risk education was held during a class teacher lecture.
The overall result of the campaign is the successful education of 9,122 sixth-grade students in 450 classes.
The most important segment of this campaign is the beginning of the mine risk education process in primary schools and enhancing awareness about the danger of mines. The process would be continued and improved in secondary schools as well, which would lead to the reduction of mine casualties as the ultimate goal of education.
The organizer of the Workshop is the BHMAC, in cooperation with UNDP BiH.
The workshop was attended by representatives of the Ministries of Education and Pedagogical Institutes from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
